The Houston Gymnastics Academy’s Men’s Team enjoyed another successful meet at the 2019 Ricky Deci Invitational. The RD761 National Invitational is one of the premier competitions held each year and our athletes are proud and honored to compete against the best.
How did our HGA Men’s Team do in 2019? Our Level 4, Division 1, Men’s Team took First Place while our Level 5, Division 1, Men’s Team also won First Place in the Team Competition.
In addition to Team awards, Max Aviles was awarded the Ricky Deci Award after scoring an impressive 11.2 on the pommel. This coveted award is given to the athlete with the single highest score in an event of Level 5, Division 1, at the RD761 Invitational!
The HGA Level 10 Team qualified three athletes; Max Mifflin, Devin Ryman and Michael Torres to the Individual Event Finals (only Top 8 qualify from prelims). Devin and Max both won Silver medals on Floor Exercise and Horizontal Bar respectively.
