Did you “nose” Houston Gymnastics Academy joined the fight against child poverty on Red Nose Day? That’s right, our gymnasts flipped, jumped, stretched, balanced and smiled while sporting the big red noses – all for a great cause.
What exactly is Red Nose Day? Well, Red Nose Day is a fundraising campaign that truly puts the fun in “fun”draising in an effort to change lives and end child poverty. While Red Nose Day originally launched in the UK in 1988, it made its debut in the US in 2015. Impressively, since its launch in ’88, the campaign has raised over $1 billion globally. There’s nothing silly about that fact!
So, where does the money from Red Nose Day go? According to RedNoseDay.org, half of Red Nose Day’s grant money will be spent right here in America on projects close to home with the other half going to some of the poorest communities in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Houston Gymnastics Academy was proud to support this cause and the fight against child poverty. To see all of the clowning around that our gymnasts did, click here. To learn more about Red Nose Day, the organizations it supports and how you can get involved, click here.
