Currently housed in a 25,000 square foot facility, we’re preparing to move to our new state-of-the-art 37,000 square foot gymnastics facility. HGA offers the latest and greatest in gymnastics equipment for our preschool program, recreational program, men’s and women’s competitive teams, tumbling and trampoline team, as well as our various programs and parties. We offer low class ratios, a modern facility designed for all levels of students and a large preschool area specially-designed for our youngest gymnasts.
Kevin Mazeika, originally from Houston, Texas, attended college at Southern Illinois University on a gymnastics scholarship. A gymnast since the age of four, Kevin has earned awards and accolades across the sport. Most notably, his impressive position as a three-time Olympic Head Coach (Silver, 2004 Olympics; Bronze, 2008 Olympics; 2012 Olympics.) Kevin also made his mark as a four-time World Championship Head Coach resulting in five Silver Medals. A three-time USAG “Coach of the Year,” Kevin represented the USA in 30 international competitions, has been a member of the National Coaching Staff since 1988, and was the National Team Coordinator for the USA Gymnastics Men’s Program (2009) before being inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2010 and voted to become a Life Member of the Gymnastics Association of Texas in 2011.
Tori is originally from Richmond, Texas. Tori has an extensive background in dance and cheer, spanning nearly 15 years. In addition, she coached recreational gymnastics. Tori attended Texas State University where she earned her BS in Elementary Education and a Masters in Exercise and Sports Science.
Sam, originally from Sugar Land, Texas, is a graduate of Texas A&M Corpus Christi where she received a BA in Business Management and Marketing. An all-around athlete, Sam is not only a former Level 9 competitive gymnast, she also received a full athletic scholarship and competed in tennis at the collegiate level. Sam has been coaching team and recreational gymnastics for over ten years. As an athlete herself, Sam takes pride in helping her students achieve their goals both inside and outside the gym, instilling in them the life lessons and unrelenting work ethic that gymnastics taught her as a child athlete.
Misty is originally from Houston, Texas, and a graduate of the University of Houston with a BA in Psychology. Misty participated in non-competitive gymnastics as a child, was a dance coach for two years before becoming a gymnastics coach in 2010. Misty is the face of our Preschool Program, offering encouragement and guidance to our youngest gymnasts and the talented coaching staff she manages.
Nathalie is a Houston transplant, originally from Orlando, Florida. Nathalie received a full gymnastics scholarship to Kent State University, where they were back-to-back MAC team champions. She was a Level 10 J.O. National Qualifier, two-time Level 10 Regional Vault and Floor Champion and Level 10 State Vault, Floor, and Bar Champion. Nathalie graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BS in Business Administration. Aside from her gymnastics abilities, Nathalie, is our spirited party planner! She works tirelessly to plan our HGA birthday parties, as well as our weekly Parent’s Night Out events!
Carrie has a background in cheer and dance, cheering competitively for seven years and dancing for over 15. She left Houston in 2006 only to make her way back home a decade later. Carrie earned her BA in Communication from the University of Houston, Clear Lake and has worked for a number of small businesses, working in everything from event planning to public relations before becoming a Social Media Director at a digital marketing firm in North Carolina. However, she’s “home” now and bringing her passion for marketing and communication to Houston Gymnastics Academy.
