Men's Gymnastics

Our men's team is one of the most prestigious programs in the world. We have produced hundreds of State and Regional champions. HGA is the home of three time Olympic Head Coach Kevin Mazeika.

The men's team compete from level 3 to 10 and at the Elite level under the USA Gymnastics program policies and guidelines.

Meet the Coaches

Henan “John” Zheng. John is the Men’s Team Head Coach for Houston Gymnastics Academy (HGA). He began his coaching career with the Liaoning Province Team in China. The team went on to receive silver in the 2002 “Red River Cup” National Gymnastics Championship. In 2003 three of his gymnasts were recommended to the Chinese National Gymnastics Team and one received the honor title of Master of Sports. Next John became the head coach for the Saudi Arabia National Men’s Team in 2007. The team received silver in back to back in the 2008 and 2009 Gymnastics Competition in the Gulf States. Then won two first place titles coaching the Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics team in the Junior Gymnastics Club in Singapore during the 2012-2013 season. In 2014 he came to the U.S. to coach at the Loudoun Gymnastics Center. During his first season 72 of his gymnasts received a top three title, and in 2015 the number of top three titles rose to 121.

José Manuel Súcart Cessé. José is the Men’s Team Assistant Head Coach for Houston Gymnastics Academy. Before coming to HGA he coached the Puerto Rico Senior and Junior National Team. He has coached multiple Puerto Rico National Champions in all USAG levels and categories since 1997. The former Major of Caguas in Puerto Rico bestowed unto him multiple “Coach of the Year” awards for his work in Puerto Rican gymnastics.
